Mosaic Address Plaque Workshop
Level: Beginner/Intermediate

Create your own shimmering glass mosaic address plaque!  Each student will be guided through the design process to create an 12” x 12” address plaque for exterior display. In this one day workshop students will be introduced to the types of glass applicable to mosaic and will learn to use mosaic tools to cut and shape glass into tesserae (the pieces that make a mosaic). I have many templates to choose from, so no illustration is necessary.

Glass mosaic design, double indirect method, direct method, and grouting technique will be discussed. Students have the option of returning to the studio at a later date for a grouting session (included in class fee) or taking dry grout home to complete the project. Adhesives, substrates, terminology, finishing will be presented. Registered students will send me their address numbers so that I can print out their template prior to the workshop. No previous mosaic experience necessary. However, the more mosaic experience you have will determine the detail in your mosaic. You can do this.
